Galveston offers 32 miles of relaxing beaches, superb restaurants, top resort hotels, marvelous downtown shopping, numerous antique stores, incredible art galleries, fabulous entertainment and one of the largest and well-preserved concentrations of Victorian architecture in the country.

It's less than 45 minutes away from Houston (without traffic!) and is also near NASA and Kemah attractions. In addition to the miles of beaches and unique shopping on the Strand, two popular destinations are Moody Gardens and the new Schlitterbahn in Galveston. The site of the United States' deadliest natural disaster, the 1900 Great Storm that killed more than 6,000 people, Galveston has rebounded from that tragedy to reclaim its honor as one of Texas' top cities.
